It is considered a sequel to Psyonix's Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars released in 2008. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 in July 2015, with ports for Xbox One, OS X, and Linux released in 2016. Players take to the highly-detailed arena with booster-rigged vehicles and crash full throttle into a gigantic ball, with the objective of ramming the ball into the opposing team's net.
